MalignantA cancerous tumour that can invade and destroy nearby tissue and may spread to other parts of the body.
 
MarginThe edge or border of the tissue removed in cancer surgery.
 
MedialIn the middle or inside, as opposed to lateral.
 
Median survivalMedian means the middle value. An equal number of people live longer as die earlier than the median.
 
MetastasesCancerous tumours in any part of the body as a result of spread from the original (primary) origin.
 
MRIMagnetic Resonance Imaging. A scanning device that uses a magnetic field, radio waves and a computer. Signals emitted by normal and diseased tissue during the scan are assembled into an image.
 
Multi-disciplinary team (MDT)Team of clinicians, nurses and other health professional who work together to deliver care to patients and carers.
