Natalya Jagger - chief executive and co-founder
In 2005 following the loss of my soulmate, Damian, I met my best friend, Andrew. For a year he supported me through some difficult times but, in June 2006 the tables turned when Andrew's daughter, Rose, was diagnosed with a At the start of 2007, along with Andrew, I began fundraising for Clatterbridge Since Rose's diagnosis I have also been collecting allsorts of information on high grade brain tumours and in mid 2008 I began placing that information on a new website. In March 2009 I launched BT Buddies, a website offering information, inspiration and hope to anyone affected by a high grade On the 10th May 2010, we were thrilled when BT Buddies became a registered charity - Registered Charity No. 1135842. Jackie Brister - TRUSTEE
Jackie joined the BT Buddies team in 2010 whilst her husband, Steve, was battling advanced metastasised prostate cancer. Sadly, Steve passed away on the 27th September 2010, but, not before he raised an amazing £3,000 for BT Buddies and helped secure the support of Watford F.C. for our 'Golden Miles' project. Since his passing, Jackie has become a valuable part of the BT Buddies team by helping develop our new range of merchandise and continues to fundraise for BT Buddies in Steve's memory. Jackie also helps co-ordinate the new BT Buddies Golden Miles project. The board voted unanimously to make Jackie a BT Buddies Trustee at the November 2010 Trustee's meeting. Mark faccenda - VOLUNTEER dEVELOPMENT CO-ORDINATORFollowing the sad loss of his husband, Stephen, on the 15th June 2011 Mark joined the BT Buddies team as a volunteer to help others who find themselves battling a brain tumour and their carers / loved ones. With many years experience within private and public sector and, in recent years within the charitable sector, coupled with personal drive and ambition, Mark is a huge asset to the BT Buddies team. From August 2011 Mark will be co-ordinating all BT Buddies groups and events in the North of England. This will free up a lot of time for Natalya to concentrate on building our information and support services elsewhere in the UK. As part of our team, Mark, will continue to make sure BT Buddies delivers the best possible service and support to all those affected by a high grade brain tumour in the North. |
