Complementary Therapies and Nutrition
All of the therapies listed here are complementary, and are therefore not designed to replace any conventional treatment that you are offered.
However, they are intended to help you become physically and emotionally strong enough to cope both with the stress of living with a low-grade
Brain Tumour, and with any orthodox treatment that you may need to undertake in the future.
This section is also provided to give you basic information on nutrition and supplements other high grade brain tumour patients use. Please review any information you read here with your Doctor in order to obtain actual medical advice on whether any of these supplements may be useful to you.
Found in health food stores, supermarkets and chemists; supplements have grown into a major industry. More than half of
Cancer patients use supplements, occasionally to the exclusion of conventional treatment. More typically, supplements are used to enhance conventional treatments and ease side effects.
Below is a quick reference guide to some supplements and herbs used by brain tumour patients on the BT-Supplements group. There are also individual articles written by Ben A. Williams, PhD with links to supporting evidence on many of the supplements listed in the quick reference guide.
If you currently take a supplement that is not listed below please contact us with further details and we'll get them added here as soon as possible.
