dipg research and funding 5 Years, 10 Months ago
I have recently been contacted by the Institute of Cancer Research with regard to funding a dipg research project. Presently our charity TEPT are committed to funding a 3 year project in conjunction with BTUK. We currently have no funds set aside to help ICR. Dr Chris Jones (Team Leader of the Paediatric Molecular Pathology Team) is planning the Genomic sequencing of paediatric diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG). As I’m sure you know, little is known about the underlying biology of the disease, as its location in the brainstem makes surgery impossible, so there are few samples for study. If anyone on here would like to help fund this research it would mean so much to parents like myself who have lost a child to dipg. Please contact me on nikijanep@hotmail.com if you are interested.

Hi Niki,

Have you tried the DIPG groups or the Katie McKerracher Trust www.katiemckerrachertrust.co.uk/ - that's the only things I can think of off the top of my head but will keep thinking!
